Intel 535 Series 180GB SATA SSD

The Intel 535 Series is a 2.5-inch internal solid-state drive with 180GB of MLC flash memory. It connects over a SATA III interface and is built for consumer desktops and laptops. The drive has no moving parts, so it resists shocks that would damage a mechanical hard disk.

Sustained write behaviour

Sequential write speed reaches up to 490 MBps while sequential read reaches up to 540 MBps. Random 4KB write performance is rated at up to 80,000 IOPS and random read at up to 41,000 IOPS. Write latency is 85 µs and read latency is 80 µs, giving consistent response during long workloads.

SATA III interface limits

The SATA III link tops out at 600 MBps, so the drive cannot exceed that ceiling even if the controller is faster. Power draw stays low at 55 mW idle and 165 mW active, which helps battery life in portable systems. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C and MTBF is 1,200,000 hours.
