The Kingston UV500 is a 240GB internal solid state drive in the mSATA form factor. It connects through a SATA III interface and uses 3D TLC NAND with a Marvell Dean controller to deliver faster boot and load times than a mechanical hard drive.

Suits older laptops and small-form-factor desktops

This drive fits systems that have an mSATA slot and need a SATA-based upgrade. Builds that only accept 2.5-inch SATA drives or M.2 PCIe modules cannot use this form factor and should select a different model.

Hardware AES-256 encryption and TCG Opal 2.0

The UV500 includes 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption with TCG Opal 2.0 support. If your workflow requires drive-level encryption managed through Opal-compatible software, this specification makes the drive suitable; if encryption is not needed, the feature simply remains available.
