This 16 GB DDR3 module runs at 1066 MT/s with CL7 latency and a 1.5 V operating voltage. It uses a 240-pin RDIMM form factor and a 2Rx4 rank configuration. The module includes ECC and registered buffering for data integrity in multi-socket environments. It is built for select workstations and servers that require registered memory.

Replaces lower-capacity or non-ECC DDR3 DIMMs

The jump is worth it when a system supports registered ECC memory and needs 16 GB per slot to reach higher total capacity.
