This 256GB kit contains two 128GB DDR4 2933 PC4-23400 CL21 4Rx4 288-pin 1.2V ECC Load Reduced DIMMs. It is built for Dell PowerEdge R840 and R940xa servers that require registered ECC memory with load-reduced buffering. Standard desktop or workstation boards cannot use these modules.

Load-reduced buffering benefit

Load-reduced DIMMs reduce electrical load on the server memory bus, allowing the higher 4Rx4 density to run at 2933MHz without signal degradation.
