This OWC kit supplies 32 GB of DDR3L ECC registered memory in two 16 GB modules. It is built for Dell PowerEdge R520, R620, R715, R720 and R720xd servers that require registered DIMMs. The modules will not work in standard desktop computers or in systems that only accept unbuffered memory.

DDR3L Interface Constraints

The memory runs at 1600 MHz with CL11 latency at 1.35 V and uses the 240-pin DDR3L form factor. Registered DIMMs cannot be mixed with unbuffered modules in the same system. The server platform must support DDR3L ECC registered memory and the specific rank configuration of these modules.

Pre-Installation Checks

Verify that your Dell PowerEdge model appears in the supported list and that the system firmware is current. Confirm the server accepts 2Rx4 registered DIMMs and that all populated slots will use matching registered modules. This kit does not fit systems requiring unbuffered or non-ECC memory.
