This 32GB kit contains two 16GB DDR4 2666MHz CL19 ECC SODIMM modules built for the Synology DiskStation DS1618+. The unbuffered 2Rx8 design runs at 1.2V and meets JEDEC PC4-21300 specifications. It is intended for NAS owners who need more memory for virtual machines, container workloads or heavy file-service caching.

Upgrade from 8GB or 16GB factory configurations

The DS1618+ ships with 8GB or 16GB of non-ECC memory depending on the original bundle. Adding this kit replaces the original sticks and raises the total to 32GB, the maximum the platform officially supports. The jump is worthwhile when the NAS runs Docker containers, hosts multiple VMs or serves many concurrent SMB connections that exhaust the stock capacity.

Sustained load behaviour with ECC protection

Under continuous workloads the modules operate at the rated 2666MHz CL19 without downclocking, and ECC corrects single-bit errors that can accumulate during long uptime. Backward compatibility with 2400MHz and 2133MHz ensures stable operation if the system negotiates a lower speed. The kit is not suited for platforms that require registered DIMMs or non-ECC memory only.
