The WD_BLACK SN7100 is a 500GB internal solid state drive built for consumer PCs and handheld gaming devices. It uses a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface with the NVMe protocol and TLC 3D NAND flash. Sequential reads reach up to 6800 MBps and writes up to 5800 MBps.

DRAM-less M.2 2280 design

The drive adopts the M.2 2280 form factor and operates without a dedicated DRAM cache, relying on host memory buffer technology. It ships without a heatsink, so it fits thin laptop slots and compact handhelds where clearance is tight. Idle power draw in sleep state is 5mW.

Upgrade from older Gen4 drives
