Capacity and purpose

This 24TB enterprise hard drive uses a 3.5 inch form factor and a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. It is intended for hyperscale storage arrays, cloud infrastructure and massive scale-out data centres that need maximum density per rack. Buyers who need a smaller footprint or a different interface will not be served by this model.

Sustained workload behaviour

The drive spins at 7200 RPM with a 512MB cache and is rated for 550TB per year of enterprise nearline workloads. A 2.5 million hour MTBF and helium-filled design support consistent response rates during continuous operation. It is not aimed at burst-oriented desktop tasks or low-duty-cycle environments.

Build and connectivity

The bare drive measures 147.00mm long, 101.85mm wide and 26.10mm high, fitting standard 3.5 inch bays with a SATA data and power connector. Shock protection and a data protection system are integrated. No mounting rails, cables or adapter brackets are included.
