Extends a PCIe 1x slot to fit 16x cards in 1U to 3U chassis with a 20cm flexible cable
This riser converts a single PCI-E 1x slot into a physical 16x connector using a 20cm flexible flat cable. It fits 1U, 2U and 3U server cases where a full-height card cannot sit directly on the motherboard. The board accepts 1x, 4x, 8x and 16x cards while operating at 1x electrical speed. Builders needing higher bandwidth or multiple cards should look elsewhere.
No active cooling is present so the adapter adds no fan noise to the system. Power draw is limited to what the attached card requires through the 1x link. The thin FFC cable routes around tight drive cages without blocking airflow to nearby components. Installers must ensure the host slot can supply enough current for their specific expansion card.
The package contains the riser PCB and the pre-attached 20cm ribbon cable; no brackets, screws or software utilities are included. The flexible cable allows the card to be mounted horizontally or vertically in shallow enclosures. Users must supply their own retention hardware for the target chassis. Drivers are provided by the expansion card manufacturer, not this adapter.

Plug the 1x riser board into the motherboard slot, route the flexible high-speed FFC cable, then seat the graphics card into the 16x connector; the 20cm cable length fits 1U, 2U and 3U cases.
Inspect the ribbon cable periodically for creases or connector dust; reseat both ends if contact issues appear, otherwise no scheduled replacement is required.
The adapter only provides 1x electrical speed, so the PCIe 1x link is the bottleneck regardless of the card's 16x physical connector.
