6U Rackmount Chassis with 48 Hot-Swap Bays

This 6U rackmount server chassis holds 48 hot-swappable 3.5-inch drives in the front and two internal 2.5-inch positions. It fits E-ATX motherboards and boards up to 12 by 13 inches. Seven half-height PCI or PCIe expansion slots are available. The enclosure is built from 1.0mm SGCC steel and measures 650mm deep by 437.5mm wide by 265mm high.

This chassis targets cloud storage, big data and security monitoring deployments that need maximum 3.5-inch drive count in a single 6U space. Builders who need full-height expansion cards, a compact tower form factor or fewer than 48 drive bays should look at other platforms. The half-height slot restriction and rackmount-only mounting also rule out desktop or workstation use cases.

6Gb/s SAS Expander Backplane with Mini-SAS

The shipping backplane is a 6Gb/s expander with Mini-SAS SFF-8087 connectors, temperature control, SGPIO and staggered spin-up. An optional 12Gb/s expander with Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 is offered. Drive compatibility and controller selection depend on which backplane version is installed.
