Four-bay trayless mobile rack

The StarTech HSB4SATSASBA installs in three 5.25in bays and holds four 3.5in hard drives. It accepts both SATA III and SAS II drives and provides a 70 mm sleeve-bearing fan for active cooling. A built-in key lock secures the drives, and the trayless design allows hot-swap changes without tools. The unit connects through four SATA data and two SATA power receptacles.

Suited for servers and workstations needing

Administrators who want on-site backup or quick drive rotation will benefit from the hot-swap capability and lockable bays. The rack requires three adjacent 5.25in front-panel openings, so compact cases without that space cannot accommodate it. Builders using only 2.5in drives or needing more than four bays should consider a different enclosure.

SATA 6 Gbps and SAS II support

The backplane operates at SATA revision I, II and III speeds up to 6.0 Gbps and supports SAS II through SFF-8482 connectors. This single interface specification determines whether your host controller and drives are compatible with the rack.
