Builders with limited expansion slots

The adapter suits systems where a free x1 slot is the only option for adding a larger expansion card such as a capture card, network adapter or sound card. It does not suit installations that require full x16 electrical bandwidth or multi-lane throughput for sustained high-speed data transfer. The physical x16 connector accepts x2, x4, x8, x12 and x16 cards mechanically.
