Dual Gigabit PoE Ports

The StarTech ST2000PEXPSE adds two 10/100/1000 Mbps Power-over-Ethernet RJ45 ports to a PCI Express slot. Each port delivers data and up to 25.5 W of power, compliant with the IEEE 802.3at Type 1 and Type 2 standard. It targets installers who need to supply PoE devices such as access points or cameras directly from a desktop or server chassis.

Replacing External Injectors

This card removes the need for separate midspan injectors or a dedicated PoE switch when only a few endpoints are required. The upgrade is worthwhile when cabling runs are already terminated at the host location and local power sourcing simplifies the deployment. On-chip 48 KB transmit and receive buffers help maintain throughput under load.

Build Integration
