The Supermicro SYS-122H-TN is a 1U rack server built for dual Intel Xeon 6700 series processors with E-cores. It provides 32 DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 4TB of memory and eight hot-swap 2.5-inch bays that accept NVMe, SAS or SATA drives. Two internal M.2 NVMe slots add boot or cache capacity.
This system replaces single-socket servers or older dual-socket platforms limited to PCIe 4.0 interconnects. The jump is worth it when workloads need up to 144 cores per CPU, 108MB cache per CPU and three PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for accelerators, GPUs or high-speed networking cards. Buyers who need more than two processors or more than eight front drive bays should look elsewhere.
Three PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and one OCP 3.0 compatible AIOM slot share the CPU lane budget, so populating every slot with x16 devices may reduce link widths. Air-cooled CPUs above 250W TDP are only supported under specific thermal conditions and the single 1GbE BMC port does not carry production traffic.

The system is a 1U rackmount chassis; standard 19-inch rails with sufficient depth for the 8-bay front and three full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 cards are needed.
Install both CPUs into the LGA-4710 sockets first, then populate DDR5 RDIMMs evenly across all 32 slots — 1 DPC for 6400 MT/s or 2 DPC for 5200 MT/s — to enable full 4 TB capacity.
The hot-swap fans and the 8-bay NVMe/SAS/SATA backplane are the primary field-replaceable units; M.2 NVMe slots and the TPM 2.0 module are not designed for routine replacement.
