Dual 14-core Xeon E5-2680 v4 2U server

The Supermicro SYS-6028U-TR4T+ is a 2U rackmount server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.4 GHz base with 3.3 GHz turbo across 14 cores. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory installed across four slots. It targets workloads that need high thread counts and memory reliability such as virtualization hosts, database nodes and compute clusters.

Sustained load with redundant titanium power

Dual 1000 W titanium-efficiency power supplies share the load and keep the system running if one unit fails. Hot-swap drive bays and the MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed write-back let you replace drives or rebuild arrays without downtime. IPMI 2.0 with dedicated LAN provides KVM-over-LAN and virtual media so administrators can monitor thermals, power and POST progress remotely during extended heavy utilisation.

12-bay SAS/SATA limit and 8-port RAID constraint

Twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives but the installed MegaRAID 9361-8i connects only eight ports directly. Expanding past eight drives requires an additional HBA or expander not included. The quad-port Intel X540 10GBase-T adapter delivers 10 GbE over copper RJ45; maximum link distance follows the 10GBase-T standard. Memory capacity can grow to 1.5 TB using all 24 DIMM slots with registered ECC DDR4 modules.
