MegaRAID 9361-8i and quad 10GBase-T

An LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller provides eight internal SAS 12 Gb/s ports with 1 GB cache and battery backup. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the 12 hot-plug 3.5-inch drive bays. A SuperMicro AOC-2UR-6-i4XT add-in card adds four RJ45 10GBase-T ports driven by an Intel X540 controller. A dedicated IPMI 2.0 LAN port enables KVM-over-LAN and virtual media for remote management.

LGA 2011-3 platform constraints

The dual-socket LGA 2011-3 platform limits upgrades to the Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 families. Maximum supported memory is 1.5 TB when all 24 DIMM slots are populated. The MegaRAID 9361-8i connects through a single PCIe slot, so its eight ports serve the 12 bays through backplane expanders.
