The Synology RS2423+ is a 12-bay rackmount network-attached storage server designed for small and medium businesses. It arrives fully assembled and tested with twelve 12TB Synology Plus Series drives providing 144TB of raw capacity. An AMD Ryzen processor and 8GB of installed memory drive file management and sharing workloads. The system includes a 1.6TB Synology cache via an M2D20 adapter with two 800GB modules.

Network limits with 1GbE and 10GbE

The unit provides two 1GbE RJ-45 ports supporting Link Aggregation and Failover, plus a single 10GbE RJ-45 port. Sequential throughput reaches up to 3,500 MB/s read and 1,700 MB/s write, while random performance hits 155K read and 79K write IOPS. The 10GbE link caps peak transfer rates for clients without faster interfaces. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports allow direct peripheral attachment but do not serve as primary storage uplinks.
