Compact 1U Rackmount NAS

The Synology RS422+ is a 4-bay rackmount network-attached storage server delivered fully assembled with four 12TB enterprise-class drives for 48TB total capacity. It runs the DiskStation Manager operating system and targets small businesses and homelab owners who need centralised file storage, sharing, synchronisation and backup in a space-saving chassis.

Dual 1GbE Network Limits

Two RJ-45 Gigabit ports provide link aggregation and failover, capping throughput at one gigabit per second per port unless aggregation is configured. A single USB 3.2 Gen 1 port allows direct-attached expansion or backup. The AMD Ryzen processor and 2GB of installed memory set the ceiling for concurrent services and virtual machines.

Upgrade From Standalone Drives

This unit replaces loose external drives or a basic file server by consolidating 48TB into a 44mm high rack enclosure with redundant networking.
