The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built around a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and four 12 TB Synology Plus drives pre-installed for 48 TB of raw capacity. Four integrated 1 GbE ports and a factory-fitted 2-port 10GBASE-T adapter provide flexible high-speed connectivity for remote offices and edge deployments.

Upgrade from single-gigabit appliances when 10 GbE

This unit replaces slower single-gigabit NAS appliances where aggregated 1 GbE links or the included 10 GbE adapter can reduce backup windows and improve virtualisation storage latency. The jump is worth it when workloads saturate 1 GbE pipes or when Link Aggregation and automatic failover are required for business continuity. The PCIe Gen3 slot allows future addition of 25 GbE or M.2 caching without replacing the chassis.

Slide into a standard rack

The 44 mm high chassis mounts in any standard 19-inch rack using the included accessory pack and connects to 100–240 VAC power. Four hot-swappable bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, so drive replacement happens while the system runs. A common issue is forgetting to initialise the expansion port before attaching an RX426 unit, which prevents the extra bays from appearing in DSM.
