The Thermalright HR-EB101 is a compact aluminium enclosure that turns an M.2 NVMe SSD into a portable USB-C drive. It delivers up to 10 Gbps theoretical bandwidth over USB 3.2 Gen2 and supports UASP, TRIM and S.M.A.R.T for efficient data handling. The CNC-machined shell includes thermal pads to help manage drive temperature during sustained transfers.

Suits NVMe SSDs up to 8TB in 2230 to 2280 sizes

This enclosure accepts M-key and B+M-key NVMe drives from 2230 through 2280, making it useful for laptop pull-outs and full-size desktop modules alike. It is not for SATA M.2 SSDs, nor for users who need 2.5-inch SATA support, multi-bay RAID, or a fan-assisted design. Builders requiring more than a single NVMe slot should look elsewhere.

Single-bay NVMe only with screw-fastened mount

The decisive spec is that the HR-EB101 houses exactly one M.2 NVMe SSD secured by a screw-fastened bracket, with no SATA protocol support. Included thermal pads, a screwdriver, mounting hardware, and both USB-C to C and USB-C to A cables complete the kit for immediate use with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android hosts.
