The Ubiquiti Dream Machine Special Edition is a rack-mountable firewall appliance built for small to medium networks that need integrated switching and routing. It combines a quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor at 1.7 GHz with 4 GB of DDR4 memory and 16 GB eMMC storage. The unit includes a 128 GB SSD for NVR recordings and a 1.3 inch touchscreen for local status.

3.5 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput limit

The appliance delivers 3.5 Gbps of routing performance with intrusion detection and prevention enabled. It provides one 10G SFP+ and one 2.5GbE RJ45 WAN port alongside eight 1GbE LAN ports, six of which supply PoE and two PoE+. Total simultaneous sessions are capped at 1000, and the operating temperature range spans -10 to 40° C.

100 UniFi devices and 1000 clients

The gateway comfortably manages over 100 UniFi access points, switches or cameras while supporting more than 1000 connected clients. The 3.5 inch NVR drive bay adds local video storage capacity beyond the built-in 128 GB SSD.
