This Western Digital Red Pro drive provides 24TB of CMR storage on a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. It spins at 7200 RPM with a 512MB cache and is built for enterprise NAS systems with up to 24 bays. The 3.5-inch form factor fits standard drive bays in rackmount or tower enclosures.

SATA throughput and 300TB yearly workload

The SATA 6.0Gb/s link caps sustained transfer rates at the interface maximum, so sequential performance cannot exceed that ceiling. The drive is rated for a 300TB per year workload rate, which sets the practical boundary for write-heavy, always-on RAID arrays. Vibration from adjacent drives in dense chassis is managed by on-board RV sensors.

26.1mm helium-sealed chassis with NASware 3.0

The helium-filled design at 26.10mm height reduces internal turbulence and acoustic noise in 24-bay configurations. NASware 3.0 firmware tunes error recovery and power management for RAID controllers, while 3D Active Balance Plus improves rotational stability.
