Buffalo Technology
Four-bay desktop NAS with 16TB pre-installed storage, quad-core processor, 2.5GbE and USB 3.0 ports, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD
Included HDD Capacity 16TB (4 x 4TB)
Option Fully Populated
The Buffalo TeraStation 3030 TS3430DN1604 arrives with four 4 TB drives pre-installed for 16 TB total capacity. A quad-core Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-524 processor at 2.0 GHz and 2 GB of DDR4 memory handle file serving and RAID management. Small teams or home offices needing immediate shared storage without drive selection can deploy it quickly.
Two RJ-45 ports provide one 2.5 GbE and one 1 GbE link under IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards, so aggregate throughput tops out at the 2.5 GbE ceiling. RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD are supported, but the single 2.5 GbE uplink will bottleneck sustained sequential transfers before the SATA drives saturate. No 10 GbE or link-aggregation option exists on this model.
Desktop form factor (9.1 x 6.7 x 8.5 in) fits on a shelf; the included 5e ethernet cable and AC cord connect to the rear ports. Drive bays are populated, so initial setup only requires network configuration via the web UI. USB 3.0 ports allow external backup targets. Buyers who want 10 GbE connectivity, ECC memory, or expansion beyond four bays cannot add those later.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
This unit ships with four 4TB drives for 16TB raw capacity; the 4-bay chassis lets you expand later with compatible OP-HD4.0N drives.
The 2.5GbE RJ-45 port supports up to 2.5 Gbps throughput when connected to a 2.5GbE switch or router; the second port runs at 1GbE.
The ports follow IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab, so the 2.5GbE link is capped at 2.5 Gbps and the 1GbE link at 1 Gbps.
