Buffalo Technology
A 12-bay rackmount NAS with 48 TB of pre-installed enterprise drives, 16 GB DDR4 memory, native 10 GbE and RAID 0/1/5/6/10/JBOD support
Included HDD Capacity 48TB (4 x 12TB)
Option Partially Populated
The Buffalo Technology TS51220RH4804 is a 12-bay rackmount network-attached storage system shipped with four 12TB enterprise-grade hard drives pre-configured in RAID. It targets businesses that need immediate, high-capacity shared storage for file serving, backup targets or virtualization workloads without the delay of drive sourcing and array setup.
Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory support the native 10GbE port and multi-protocol file services during continuous read and write streams. The system maintains throughput for concurrent users and virtual machines by keeping hot data in RAM while the four installed drives handle the persistent write path across RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 or JBOD configurations.
The single 10GBASE-T interface tops out at ten gigabits per second over copper cabling up to one hundred metres, so aggregate throughput cannot exceed that ceiling even with faster drives. Each drive bay connects through SATA III at six gigabits per second, which bounds individual drive performance and makes the eight empty bays useful for capacity expansion rather than raw speed gains.
