This Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2603v3 processor with six cores at 1.6 GHz and ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory. It includes three 300 GB 15K SAS drives on a PERC H330 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. A 550 W redundant power supply and four 1 GbE ports complete the baseline configuration.
The chassis accepts up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives and offers two PCIe 3.0 slots for additional controllers. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Express with optional Enterprise upgrades. Organisations needing more than one processor, memory beyond 16 GB, or a larger drive count should evaluate alternative platforms.
Only one Xeon E5-2603v3 is installed and the board provides twelve DIMM slots, six per processor, so the maximum supported capacity remains 16 GB with the current CPU. Adding a second processor would unlock the full 384 GB limit and the remaining six slots. Buyers planning memory-intensive applications must factor in the second-CPU requirement.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
The server ships with one Xeon E5-2603v3 processor, 16GB DDR4 memory, three 300GB 15K SAS drives in trays, a DVD drive, one 550W redundant power supply and a power cable. Rail kit, bezel, empty drive trays, mouse, keyboard and video cable are not included.
With three drives the H330 controller can create a RAID 5 array for capacity and single-drive fault tolerance, or a RAID 1 array with a hot spare for maximum redundancy. RAID 0 offers no protection.
The E5-2603v3 provides six cores at 1.6GHz with DDR4-2400 support across 12 DIMM slots; it handles light virtualisation, file and print services, or web hosting within the 550W power budget and 1U thermal envelope.
