DELL
1U rack server with eight-core Xeon at 2.4 GHz, 16 GB DDR4, H730 RAID controller and eight 2.5" hot-plug bays
HDD None
The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rackmount server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a PERC H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives and includes a DVD-ROM drive. Remote management is provided by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller.
The server occupies one rack unit and requires rails for mounting, which are not included. A single 550 W redundant power supply is installed; the chassis can accept a second unit for full redundancy. Twelve DDR4 DIMM slots are present, six per processor, allowing expansion up to 384 GB when a second CPU is added. Two PCIe 3.0 slots provide room for additional network or storage cards. Four 1 GbE ports handle baseline connectivity.
A power cable is included so the unit can be powered immediately. The absence of drive trays means storage must be sourced separately before the hot-plug bays become usable. No operating system, bezel, keyboard, mouse or video cable are supplied, so deployment planning should account for separate procurement of these items. The Matrox G200 graphics chip provides basic console output only.

Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
The 550 W redundant power supply is rated for the configured system with one E5-2630 v3 and up to eight 2.5" drives; adding a second processor will increase draw and should be validated against the PSU budget.
Fan speed scales with inlet temperature and CPU load; a single E5-2630 v3 at typical utilisation keeps acoustics in the low-40 dBA range, rising under sustained heavy compute.
Populate all twelve slots with 32 GB DDR4 RDIMMs running up to 2400 MT/s; the board has six slots per processor, so the second CPU must be installed to access the second bank.
