Dual Xeon 1U server for dense compute

The PowerEdge R630 fits two Intel Xeon E5-2637 V3 processors running at 3.5 GHz, each with four cores and hyper-threading for 16 logical threads. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across the 24 DIMM slots. The 1U rack height and redundant 750 W power supplies suit space-constrained data-centre racks.

H330 RAID controller enables flexible storage tiers

The integrated Perc H330 12 Gbps controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drive bays. No drives or trays are included, so administrators must supply media that matches capacity and endurance requirements. The controller also provides a dedicated PERC slot, leaving three PCIe 3.0 slots free for additional I/O cards.

PCIe 3.0 and 1 GbE networking bound expansion

Three PCIe 3.0 slots limit bandwidth for modern accelerators or high-speed network adapters that expect newer generations. The default daughter card supplies four 1 GbE ports; optional 10 GbE configurations require a separate NDC module. Maximum memory per processor is capped by the installed CPU capability, so total system memory cannot exceed the processor-rated limit without a CPU change.
