PowerEdge T430 5U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack-mount server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 processors, each running at 3.2 GHz with eight cores. It ships with 384 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across twelve slots and eight 4 TB 7.2K SATA hard drives managed by a PERC H730 RAID controller. Integrated dual-port 1 GbE networking and iDRAC 8 Express remote management complete the package for small-office or branch workloads.

Before ordering

Verify that your rack provides a 5U bay and can supply power to dual 750 W platinum-efficiency hot-swap supplies. The system uses an LGA 2011-3 socket and the Intel C610 chipset, so any spare processors must match that platform. Memory expansion is capped at 384 GB across the twelve DDR4 slots, and the eight 3.5-inch drive bays are already populated with SATA drives. Network uplinks are limited to the onboard 1 GbE ports unless an additional adapter is added.

Included accessories and software

The front bezel is supplied, but plastic feet are not included. The PERC H730 controller brings a 1 GB cache and battery backup, enabling RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. iDRAC 8 Express provides out-of-band remote management for monitoring and firmware updates without a separate KVM. The dual power supplies and hot-swap drive carriers allow component replacement without downtime.
