Lay Filaments
Water-soluble PVA support filament in 1.75 mm diameter with ±0.1 mm tolerance, prints at 190-210 °C and dissolves in water
Lay Filaments LAYaPVA is a water-soluble PVA filament designed as a carrier material for dual-extrusion printers. It adheres well to PLA, ABS and Nylon during the build and dissolves completely in cold or warm water after printing. The material leaves no residue on the finished part, making it suited for complex geometries that require internal supports.
The formulation is engineered to resist heat distortion and thermal degradation inside the extruder better than standard PVA grades. Printing temperature is 190 - 210 degC with a diameter tolerance of ± 0.1 mm. No heated bed is required for the support material itself, reducing setup complexity for multi-material jobs.
Submerging the finished print in cold water dissolves the support structures fully in about two hours; warm water accelerates the process. The filament is supplied on a 0.75 kg spool with a 2.85 mm diameter. Buyers using 1.75 mm extruders or requiring larger spool weights will need a different product.

Load the filament at 190 – 210 °C, ensure the Bowden tube or direct drive path is clean, and purge until only clear PVA extrudes; the step many miss is drying the spool first because PVA absorbs moisture rapidly.
Store unused filament in a sealed bag with desiccant; if it becomes brittle or prints with bubbles, dry it at low heat or replace the spool — no other consumable parts are involved.
Thermal degradation inside the extruder during extended printing; the filament is formulated to resist heat distortion up to 210 °C, but prolonged exposure beyond that range causes breakdown.
