Orico
An aluminum enclosure that converts a single M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD into a 10 Gbps USB-C portable drive with a cooling vest, thermal pad and a dual-headed cable
Size M.2 NVME SSD
Model USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps)
The Orico aluminium enclosure converts a single M.2 NVMe SSD into a USB-C external drive. It accepts M-key and B+M-key modules in the 2280 form factor and connects at up to 10 Gbps. The rose-gold finish and bundled dual-head cable suit mobile professionals who need fast, tool-free storage expansion.
This enclosure works exclusively with PCIe NVMe drives; M.2 SATA and PCIe AHCI modules are not supported. The USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 interface delivers a theoretical 1000 MB/s, with Orico lab tests reaching 1200 MB/s on a Samsung 970 EVO Plus. UASP, TRIM and SMART pass-through are enabled for 70 % faster reads and 40 % faster writes versus conventional USB 3.1.
A full-wrap aluminium vest and silicone thermal pad conduct heat away from the SSD, while CNC-cut stripes on the top cover increase dissipation area. The drive enters smart sleep after ten minutes of inactivity to reduce power draw and extend lifespan. An LED indicates active or sleep status during normal desktop or laptop use.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
The enclosure supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps with UASP and TRIM, giving a theoretical ceiling of 1000 MB/s; actual throughput depends on the NVMe drive used.
It uses USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 (the current name for 10 Gbps USB-C), so the interface caps at 10 Gbps and is backward compatible with slower USB ports.
The enclosure accepts single-sided M-key or B+M-key NVMe SSDs in the 2280 form factor; SATA or AHCI M.2 drives are not supported.
