12-bay desktop NAS with Xeon D-1531 six-core CPU, 16 GB DDR4 ECC memory, dual 10GbE ports and capacity for 216 TB raw storage
The Synology DS3622xs+ is a 12-bay desktop NAS powered by a six-core Intel Xeon D-1531 processor running at 2.2 GHz with turbo up to 2.7 GHz. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 ECC memory expandable to 48 GB across four SODIMM slots. The diskless chassis supports up to 216 TB raw capacity using 3.5" or 2.5" SATA drives.
Two 10GbE RJ-45 ports and three 1GbE ports provide the only built-in network interfaces. Throughput tops out at the line rate of each port, so sustained sequential reads reach 4,719 MB/s while 4K random reads hit 260,691 IOPS. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two Mini-SAS HD expansion ports add direct-attached and shelf connectivity without extra network bandwidth.
One PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot is the only internal expansion available for adding NICs, HBAs or accelerator cards. Buyers who need more than two 10GbE ports or additional storage controllers must fit everything into this single slot. The system cannot accept a second add-in card, limiting I/O growth to what one x8 device provides.
