Smart-UPS X 2000VA for critical servers

The APC Smart-UPS X 2000VA delivers 1800W pure sine-wave output to protect servers, network gear and security systems from outages and disturbances. A 2U rack-mount or tower convertible chassis with included rails fits standard racks, while the LCD interface shows real-time status and allows configuration of alarm delays. Seven outlets — three NEMA 5-15R, three NEMA 5-20R and one NEMA L5-20R — connect mixed loads from a single NEMA 5-20P input. Green-mode operation bypasses unused components when utility power is clean, reducing energy consumption.

Upgrade from non-sine-wave or fixed-runtime units

This unit replaces standby or simulated-sine-wave UPS models that cannot support active power-factor-corrected power supplies or that lack extended-run capability. The jump is worthwhile when attached equipment requires pure sine-wave output or when outages regularly exceed the internal battery window of one to thirty minutes. Extended-run models accept external SMX120BP battery packs for longer runtime, so the investment scales with availability requirements rather than forcing a full replacement later.

2U rack install with hot-swap battery modules

Mounting rails are included for two-post or four-post racks; the convertible feet allow tower orientation on a shelf or floor. User-replaceable battery cartridges APCRBC117 and APCRBC117J swap from the front without powering down the load, and recharge in three hours. The Smart-Slot accepts optional management cards for network monitoring, but the slot is empty unless a card is purchased separately. Ensure the input circuit can supply 20A at 120V and that the adjustable input window of 75 to 154V matches local utility conditions.
