It replaces a mechanical hard drive to deliver quicker boot times, faster file loads and snappier overall system responsiveness. The drive draws far less power than a typical hard drive, helping extend battery life in portable machines. No DRAM cache is included on the controller.

2TB capacity with SATA speed ceiling

Two terabytes provide ample room for an operating system, applications and a large media library. Sequential reads reach up to 540 MBps and writes up to 500 MBps, so large transfers and game level loads complete quickly. Sustained write performance will taper once the SLC buffer fills during very heavy workloads. The 1.5M hour MTTF rating reflects the endurance expected for typical consumer use.

SATA III interface limits

The SATA III link caps maximum throughput at 6 Gbps, so the drive cannot exceed its rated 540 MBps read and 500 MBps write regardless of workload.
