Target Deployment

The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processor at 2.4GHz and 8GB of DDR4 memory. Three 1TB 7.2K SATA drives and a PERC H330 RAID controller provide internal storage. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Express.

Redundant hot-swap 550W power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure. The 1U chassis uses high-speed fans to move air across the CPU and drive bays. Acoustic output rises with inlet temperature and workload intensity. Power draw scales with the number of installed drives and a second processor if added.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous load the cooling system runs at elevated fan speeds to keep component temperatures within specification. The H330 controller sustains RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 or 60 throughput across the three installed drives. Memory bandwidth is limited to the single-processor configuration and the 8GB installed capacity.
