1U Rack Server for Dense Compute

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 with ten cores at 2.3 GHz into a 1U chassis. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across twelve DIMM slots, leaving room for expansion up to 384 GB. Three 600 GB 15K SAS drives and a PERC H330 RAID controller provide fast local storage for virtualization or database workloads.

Hot-Plug Drives and RAID Flexibility

Eight 2.5-inch bays accept SAS or SATA drives and the H330 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. The three pre-installed 15K drives deliver high IOPS for transaction-heavy applications, while empty trays allow immediate capacity increases without downtime. A DVD-ROM drive is included for legacy media installation.

Redundant Power and Remote Management

A single 550 W hot-swap power supply provides redundancy within the 1U form factor. Four 1 GbE ports handle network traffic, and two PCIe 3.0 slots allow additional controllers or NICs. The iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller enables out-of-band monitoring, firmware updates and remote console access from any location.
