The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor at 2.3 GHz with 24 GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It targets workloads that need multi-threaded performance in a shallow rack footprint, such as virtualization hosts, application servers or database nodes where space is at a premium. The platform supports a second processor for future scaling.

Memory ceiling at 24 GB and eight 2.5" drive bays

Installed memory is fixed at 24 GB across twelve DIMM slots, leaving no headroom for expansion without replacing modules. The PERC H730 RAID controller manages up to eight hot-plug SAS or SATA drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, providing local storage flexibility for mixed read-write workloads. Two PCIe 3.0 slots allow additional I/O cards.

Single 550 W redundant supply

A single 550 W hot-swap power supply delivers redundancy-ready power for the configured components. The Matrox G200 graphics chip handles console output only, keeping heat contribution low. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band management over the four 1 GbE ports, enabling remote monitoring and firmware updates without operating-system involvement.
