The Dell PowerEdge R530 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 24 GB of DDR4 memory across twelve DIMM slots and includes a Dell PERC H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache. Two 2 TB 7.2K SAS drives occupy two of the eight hot-plug 3.5-inch bays. Dual 750 W redundant power supplies and a DVD-ROM complete the baseline configuration.

Thermals noise and power draw

Dual 750 W redundant hot-swap power supplies share the load, keeping each unit below peak stress during normal operation. The 2U chassis directs front-to-rear airflow across the processor, memory and drive bays, while the iDRAC8 lifecycle controller monitors inlet temperature and fan speed in real time. Redundant supply design means a single module failure does not interrupt power delivery or increase acoustic output.

Included accessories and management

The box contains a power cable and sliding rail kit for immediate rack installation. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band remote console, virtual media and power control without an operating system. The PERC H730 controller enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS or SATA drives. Five PCIe slots — three at 3.0 and two at 2.0 — remain open for additional networking or storage expansion.
