It ships with two 600GB 15K SAS drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller and supports up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays. Dual 750W redundant power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management suit small-to-medium database or virtualization tasks.

Tool-less drive bays and rail kit simplify setup

Eight hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives without tools and the included rail kit secures the 2U chassis in standard racks. The PERC H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60; configure the array before loading data to avoid rebuild delays. Memory installs in matched sets across twelve DIMM slots, six per processor, so populate evenly when expanding beyond the factory 8GB.

PCIe 3.0 lanes and SAS 6Gbps cap throughput

Five PCIe slots provide three PCIe 3.0 and two PCIe 2.0 connections for additional NICs, HBAs or GPUs, but total bandwidth is shared with the chipset. The onboard SAS backplane runs at 6Gbps, limiting sequential throughput on the 15K drives, and the single 1GbE daughter card restricts network-heavy clusters.
