Dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 2U Server

The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing nodes. Two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors deliver twelve cores at 2.40 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo. Seventy sixty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory across twenty-four slots supports heavy multitasking.

768GB DDR4 upgrade path

The system ships with 768 GB installed in all twenty-four DIMM slots using 32 GB modules, leaving no free slots for simple expansion. Maximum supported capacity is 1.5 TB, so any increase requires replacing existing modules with higher-density DDR4 registered ECC sticks. The dual-socket LGA 2011-3 platform and Intel C610 chipset are already fully populated with the maximum two processors.

Eight-bay SAS storage and 10 GbE networking

Eight 2.5-inch bays hold 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives managed by a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through. A quad-port daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links. Dual 750 W platinum hot-swap power supplies, iDRAC8 Enterprise, ready rails and a front bezel complete the package for immediate rack deployment.
