The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprise workloads such as databases, virtual desktop infrastructure and high-performance computing. Two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors deliver 20 cores at 2.6 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo capability. 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots supports memory-intensive applications.

8-bay SAS storage with H730 RAID

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays hold 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives connected to a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides remote management. The system accepts up to 1.5 TB total memory.
