Dual 14-Core Xeon Server for Enterprise Workloads

The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases and high-performance computing nodes. Two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors deliver 28 cores at 2.0GHz with a 3.2GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128GB of DDR4 2400MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16GB modules installed in 24 available slots.

Sustained Load Behaviour with Redundant Power

Dual 750W platinum power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy for continuous operation under heavy multi-threaded workloads. The Intel C610 chipset supports the dual-socket configuration while the PERC H730 controller with 1GB cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for consistent storage throughput. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote monitoring and management without interrupting running services during extended production runs.

12Gb/s SAS Interface and 1.5TB Memory Ceiling

The storage controller operates at 12Gb/s over SAS and SATA connections to the eight 2.5-inch drive bays, currently populated with two 300GB 10K SAS drives. Network connectivity uses a quad-port daughter card providing two 1GbE and two 10Gb SFP+ links. Maximum memory capacity reaches 1.5TB across the 24 DDR4 slots when fully populated with supported modules.
