Dual 14-core Xeon server for virtualization

The PowerEdge R730 fits 2U of rack space and ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors at 2.4 GHz, each offering 14 cores and a 3.3 GHz turbo. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory populate four of the twenty-four slots, leaving room for expansion up to 1.5 TB. The platform targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce, VDI or high-performance computing nodes.

Redundant 750 W platinum supplies and hot-swap bays

Dual 750-watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy with hot-swap replacement. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays hold 1.2 TB 10 K SAS disks connected to a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed write cache. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Front-to-rear airflow across the 2U chassis keeps thermals steady under sustained load.

Quad-port networking and remote management built in

An Intel X520/I350 daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports without consuming a PCIe slot. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables out-of-band remote management, virtual console and power control over a dedicated network interface. ReadyRails sliding rails and a front bezel are included for quick rack mounting and a clean front appearance.
