Dual 14-core Xeon server for virtualization

The DELL PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores and reaches 3.0 GHz turbo. The system ships with 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure or high-performance computing nodes.

The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA bays; only two 300 GB 10K SAS drives are installed. The PERC H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. A quad-port daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections. Twenty-four DIMM slots total allow expansion up to 1.5 TB if your workloads demand more capacity.

Redundant platinum power

Dual 750 W platinum hot-swap supplies keep the server running during a single-unit failure. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides out-of-band monitoring and control without host OS dependence. The Intel C610 chipset and 12 Gb/s SAS backbone maintain throughput during extended database or VDI sessions. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for standard rack installation.
