Dual 14-core Xeon 2U server

This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors, each running at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores and a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 modules. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes.

Fits 2.5-inch SAS bays with dual 750 W PSUs

The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays and supports SAS and SATA drives through the Dell PERC H730 controller. Two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant power. The LGA 2011-3 sockets are fully populated, so no further CPU upgrades are possible. Memory expansion up to 1.5 TB remains available through the 24 DIMM slots. Buyers who need more storage bays or additional processor sockets should consider other platforms.

PERC H730 RAID and quad-port networking included

The bundled PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes. Two 300 GB 10K SAS drives are pre-installed. The Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides remote management. Ready Rails and a front bezel are supplied for rack mounting.
