The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors running at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores each. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 modules. The platform targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, VDI, databases or HPC data-node workloads.

Dual 750 W platinum supplies and redundant cooling

Two hot-swap 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy for continuous operation. The 2U chassis uses Dell’s engineered airflow path to cool both CPUs, the PERC H730 controller, the quad-port X520/I350 network daughter card and the installed SSDs without exceeding typical rack thermal limits. Acoustic output remains within standard data-centre expectations for a dual-socket 2U server.

PERC H730 RAID, quad-port networking

The PERC H730 1 GB controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode for the two 800 GB SATA SSDs and up to six additional 2.5-inch drives. The X520/I350 card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports for flexible fabric connectivity. iDRAC8 Enterprise delivers full remote management with virtual console, power control and lifecycle automation. Ready rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
