The ASMedia ASM3142 controller supplies dedicated bandwidth to each port. It targets builders who need front-panel USB-C without replacing the motherboard.

Passive cooling with optional SATA power

The card uses passive cooling so it adds no fan noise to the system. Each USB-C port can draw up to 900mA when the optional SATA 15-pin power connector is attached. Without that connector the ports rely on slot power alone. The design suits quiet workstations where thermal headroom is limited.

Full-height and low-profile brackets included
