This server suits environments that need up to 36 total cores and 1 TB of DDR4 memory in a single rack unit. The Matrox G200 graphics controller is limited to basic display output and cannot accelerate compute workloads. Buyers who require GPU acceleration or additional PCIe slots for specialised cards should evaluate other platforms. The eight SFF bays are populated, leaving no room for more drives without a media bay or extra bay kit.

H240 controller with eight SAS drives

The installed H240 Smart HBA manages the eight 146 GB 15K SAS drives and supports RAID 0, 1 and 5 across 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links. This controller choice determines the RAID levels and drive protocols available without adding a separate RAID card. If a different RAID level or a hardware RAID cache is required, the H240 would need to be replaced.
