B140i software RAID and drive flexibility

The integrated B140i controller delivers RAID 0, 1 and 5 across SATA drives only, so arrays are limited to that interface. Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays accept a mix of HDDs and SSDs, and two drive trays with screws are included to get started. An optional universal media bay can replace two bays if front-access optical or removable media is required, while the 550 W redundant hot-swap power supply maintains uptime during module replacement.

1U chassis with Matrox G200 graphics

The 1U height suits dense rack rows where vertical space is at a premium. Video output is handled by a Matrox G200 chip with 16 MB of memory, adequate for console management and installer screens but not for graphical workloads. Redundant hot-swap power and front-accessible drive trays simplify day-to-day maintenance without pulling the server from the rack.
