Dense 1U rack server

The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits two Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors and 32GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. Redundant 500W hot-swap power supplies keep the system running through a module failure. It is built for compute clusters, virtualization hosts or database nodes that need high core density in limited rack space.

Eight SFF bays with H240ar RAID

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays connect to the Smart HBA H240ar controller which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA links. Two 600GB 15K SAS drives are installed; the remaining six bays accept additional SAS or SATA drives. The controller replaces a basic HBA and makes the jump worthwhile when you need hardware RAID without a separate PCIe card.

Check processor generation and memory limits

The board uses the Intel C610 chipset and only accepts Xeon E5 v3 or v4 CPUs; installed memory runs at speeds the processors support up to 2400MT/s. Twenty-four DIMM slots are present but the current configuration already reaches the 32GB installed capacity listed, so further expansion requires replacing modules. Verify that your rack depth, rail kit and operating-system licensing match a 1U server with Matrox G200 graphics and no optical drive.
