The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for environments that need dense compute in a single rack unit. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors, each running at 2.4GHz with six cores, giving 24 threads when hyper-threading is enabled. The system includes 16GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots. It is suited for virtualization hosts, database nodes or general-purpose workloads where space is at a premium.

Thermals noise and redundant 500W power

Two hot-swap 500W redundant power supplies keep the server running if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses internal fans that scale with inlet temperature and processor load. Under typical mixed workloads the fans run at moderate speed; sustained heavy compute will raise fan RPM and audible noise. Power draw varies with CPU utilisation, memory population and the two installed 3.5-inch SAS drives spinning at 7.2K RPM.

Smart HBA H240ar controller and included SAS drives

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two HP 4TB 7.2K 6Gbps 3.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the four available LFF bays, leaving two bays free for expansion. The controller manages the drives without a separate cache module. No operating system is included, so the administrator must supply and install the preferred hypervisor or OS.
